I am very happy that Evergreen contacted me about donating a piece to their art auction. The auction is used to raise funds for student scholarships and the Evergreen Gallery. I have to thank Tom Anderson in Olympia Washington for suggesting my work. The greatest reward for me is having people enjoy my work and have some connection to it.
I decided to donate the Ho' Okipa point photo for a variety of reasons. One, the idea is to raise as much money as possible and this image seems, based on the feedback, something many people like. Also, I see this image as a turning point for me in that I spent much time waiting, framing and thinking about this image before I clicked the shutter - what? it isn't always random?
